The useful idea

A useful handover combines acceptance evidence, operating guidance and clear ownership.

01

Show the agreed result

Acceptance should connect to a demonstration or other useful evidence. Define that evidence before implementation, while both sides can still adjust scope.

02

Make operation understandable

Identify who owns the system, how routine work happens and where to go when something fails. Documentation should reflect the delivered scope.

03

Separate care from completion

Optional maintenance covers future agreed responsibilities. It should not be required to obtain the result originally promised in the project.
